Wake up With Great Hair

Wake up With Great Hair

Wait, for real?

Ever dreamed of waking up to silky, soft hair? And though it seems like it’s too good to be true, there’s actually a few things you can do to help that. There’s nothing worse than heat styling your hair the night before, only to wake up to it going in different directions, needing a touch up, or frizzing beyond your control.

Anytime any of us can go an extra day without washing our hair, it’s like the stars have aligned perfectly to suit us. Especially if you’re prone to wearing products. Day two hair is often funky, junky, and a lot less hunky. Dry shampoo will only do so much, as we all know; so finding something that helps extend the days in which you have to wash, blow-dry, and style your hair, we’re all ears.

Here is what you can do:

If you want to get an extra day or two out of your hairstyle, here are the two (yes, two) things you need:

  1. A silk pillow case
  2. Loose hair elastic (scrunchy)

For starters, silk pillowcases are GREAT for you hair and skin. It helps keep it smooth and frizz-free, so when you wake up you’re set and ready to go. Have you ever woken up with a crimped section of your hair and wondered how in the world it got there? OR had a very strange bend around the root area causing your hair to flip a weird direction? That almost never happens with a silk pillowcase.

If you are looking for a more budget friendly pillowcase, this one got great reviews on Amazon.

As for the scrunchy, sleeping with your tresses in a loose ponytail will help you wake up with smoother locks, too. When shopping for scrunchies make sure you get something that’s soft, and stay away from things that feel tight around your hair, or else it’ll crease and cause more breakage. Try to sleep with it wrapped around your hair twice, so it’s still a little loose, and not too tight; slide the scrunchy down a little (so it doesn’t crease your crown), and voila!

Extra tip:

Can’t let go of your dry shampoo? We get it, cause neither can we.

If you’re prone to greasy hair and an oily scalp, apply dry shampoo before bed. This will allow the product to work overnight so it soaks up ALL the oil while you get some well-deserved beauty sleep. Once you wake up, brush through it and you’re all set to go.

Are you ready for the ULTIMATE bedhead?

We don’t blame you. Let us know how well the tips helped, we’d love to hear from you! Until next time…

XOXO,

PIAM.
